Masicka – Kill Quick [New Music]

Masicka new song “Kill Quick” is a direct message to his enemies.

The dancehall deejay serves up his latest gangsta anthem “Kill Quick,” produced by Jay Crazyie Records. “Genahsyde me see man a buy gun and them no have the heart / From me dog fi bark ready fi walk the walk / Go squeeze the trigger then ago start the sparks / Push a knife a yo neck and it no affi sharp,” the Genahsyde leader spits.

Masicka premiered the video for “10 Outta 10” last week and released two new singles last months. This year he scored a handful of hits including some big collaborations with Ishawna and Vybz Kartel, “InfraRed.” The deejay received some backlash earlier this year for his “InfraRed” music video which portrays the robbery of an armored vehicle full of money and plenty high powered guns.

Watch Vybz Kartel “Watch Over Us” Video

Vybz Kartel new single “Watch Over Us” is a huge hit in the Latin market and now we have the visuals.

The cut was directed by Damaniac Visualz and features a number of smoking hot Spanish chicks showing off their banging body while parting to Kartel’s music. This is the second video from the incarcerated deejay over the past few days and sources inside the Gaza told us that they have a bunch of new visuals to drop before the Christmas holiday festivities.

Vybz Kartel’s appeal trial was recently pushed back to July 9th, 2018 after his legal team requested more time to prepare for the case. The aced dancehall star has been behind bars since 2011 and was convicted of murder in 2014. He and his three co-accused were sentenced to life and he was given 35 years before being eligible for parole. Despite his incarceration, Vybz Kartel manages to remain at the top of dancehall thanks to his work ethics. Over the last three months alone he released more than two dozens new songs.

Vybz Kartel Drop Comedic “Poco Man Skank” Video

Vybz Kartel drop a comedic video for his single “Poco Man Skank.”

The track was released in April on the Money Mix Riddim, produced by Good Good Productions. The single sparked some controversies earlier this year when some fans started branding it as a diss towards beauty queen turn politician Lisa Hanna. Hanna famously called for Vybz Kartel music to be banned from the airwaves given the fact that he is a convicted felon. The cut was directed by Genesis Films and BlingBlang and features some cameos from a few well known local actors including one half of the Ity and Fancy Cat duo.

Vybz Kartel has been having a busy fall season with a ton of new music and videos to appease his fans for the holiday season. The dancehall deejay is currently in prison serving a life sentence, but that has not slowed down his supply of new music. Watch the video for “Poco Man Skank” below.

Mavado Links With Di Genius For New Song “Red Rose”

Mavado link with his longtime producer Di Genius for a new single dedicated to the ladies, “Red Rose.”

Mavado is one of those rare dancehall artist that has the Midas touch because everything he released this year have been instant hits and this new single will be no different. “Man yo fi dede fi yo lady / Yo fi bring red rose fi yo girl / She love the things you do you do / No other man no fi dede fi yo girl,” Mavado sings.

Mavado has aligned himself with Alkaline and Jahmiel, two of the leading batch of young artists in dancehall currently. The trio formed a clique called MVP, the acronym for Mavado, Vendetta, and Patriotz. The Gullyside singjay has been having a great year in dancehall, but at the same time he is allowing the younger acts to shine. He also made headlines recently for his beef with Popcaan and Tommy Lee Sparta, both artists emerged from under Vybz Kartel wing, so the hatred runs deep.

Vybz Kartel Previews Two New Raunchy Singles Coming Soon

Vybz Kartel previews two new raunchy singles for the Christmas holiday.

The Gazanation boss teased the upcoming singles, “My Boo” and “Watch Over Us,” on his Instagram last night. The songs were produced by TJ Records and could arrive as early as this weekend, sources told us. “LIKE I SAID!!!…GAZAGURLZ LETS PARTY TOGETHER THIS CHRISTMAS.WANNA BE MY BOO? COMING SOON,” Kartel wrote. We’re told that the singles could arrive as early as tomorrow night.

“Think of these two tracks as a Christmas treat for the ladies from the Worl’Boss,” sources said. “TJ [Records] had these tracks in the vault for a little while and we think its the right time to release them. The single “My Boo” is a bit of a dancehall love song that will showcase Kartel’s versatility. You will find that The Teacha won’t come with the same style and flow with every song, it’s always something different.”

Since around August, Vybz Kartel has been dropping an average of two songs per week and is showing no signs of slowing down. This week he already released one song and could drop two more by tomorrow. Despite being behind bars since 2011, Kartel seems like he is the hardest working artist in dancehall currently.

“How” Vybz Kartel Roast Popcaan In New Song: Listen

Vybz Kartel quietly disses Popcaan on his new song “How” and barely anyone noticed.

This is the second song that Kartel released this week after dropping a new joint dedicated to his mother on Monday. Recently, the Gazanation deejay has been quietly taking shots his former protege Popcaan who he previously ousted as being a disloyal member of the Gaza over his alignment with Drake. In one of his recent songs, Kartel accused the Unruly Boss of stealing some of his styles and now on this new Dunwell Productions-produced single, he calls him bad mind.

“Judas by time you say a who that / Back fly go Cuba, wat time now Muller / Time fi you stop watch man give thanks for what you have / Red eye will blind yo or make man wine yo / How yo fi badmind yo friend wa the bloodclat do them… / Cut them off like Gillette / How yo fi badmind yo friend unni fi move and go weh / Give them a spinners with six shots Russian Roulette / Bout yo rate me yo no rate me talk yo a talk / But mi naan hear nutten just blah blah blah,” Vybz Kartel deejay over a dancehall beat.

In the lyrics, Kartel is saying that Popcaan badmind (envy) him for the things he achieved and then always talk about how much he rates (respect) Vybz Kartel, but now him Kartel stop listening to all of that and sees him for what he really is, badmind and disloyal.

During an interview back in July in the UK, Popcaan opened up about the hate that he has been getting from Vybz Kartel and the rest of the Gazanation fan base which makes up more than half the dancehall fans population in his opinion. Poppy also said that he learned from the hate that he has been experiencing and that is helping him stay on top.

“Since I’ve been around Vybz Kartel like a lot of people use to hate Vybz Kartel but he stayed on top and I learn that from him,” Popcaan explains. “That is why if Vybz Kartel hate Popcaan today I will forever be on top because I learn that from him.”

Alkaline Stops Skin Bleaching and Dancehall Fans Cosign

Alkaline may have stopped skin bleaching and dancehall fans are giving him two thumbs up.

The Vendetta boss posted a video on Instagram last night promoting an upcoming show in New Jersey. Some of his fans quickly noticed that he looked a lot darker than he did recently. “Alka a turn back black them dead ya now general,” one fan wrote, while another added, “Can’t even break down Alkaline progression. You can say “black alkaline, tattoo alkaline, bleach alkaline” it all happened in the same week.”

Alkaline started bleaching around 2014 when his career just started to blow up. Since then we’ve learned that his tattoo eyeball was fake and that he was wearing contacts as part of a scheme to fool his fans. We now learn that his skin bleaching was not permanent since the below video shows that he is getting back black. Here is a photo of Alkaline taken last month.

Vybz Kartel is another dancehall artist famous for skin bleaching but his procedure seems like a more permanent solution since he has maintained his lightness six years after being in prison. There are some recently speculations that his skin bleaching remedy may have poisoned his body and has resulted in his hospitalization a few times since his incarceration.

Popcaan Drop Video For Gangsta Anthem “El Chapo”

Popcaan drop the video for his new gangsta anthem “El Chapo” and he used the opportunity to send a clear message to his enemies.

The video clip features Popcaan living in a mansion at an undisclosed location (Kingston) just like a drug kingpin. He surrounds himself with lots of women and thugs that do his bidding. The gritty single was produced by NotNice while the video was directed by RD Studios. The also features the police commissioner issuing a statement to the media saying he will find Popcaan at all cost.

Popcaan drop the single in September and since then its become an anthem in dancehall and one of the deejay’s biggest hits this year. The Unruly Boss has had a great year in 2017 and further cementing his place as one of the greatest dancehall artists of this generation after only a decade in the game. He started out as a protege of Vybz Kartel before honing his own career and forming his own group Unruly.

Vanessa Bling On Cardi B Cosign “She always support my music”

Cardi B gave Vanessa Bling a big cosign last month when Offset drop a half a million dollar engagement ring on her finger.

Shortly after getting her ring, Cardi B posted a video showing off her 8-karat rock while listening to Vanessa Bling 2011 dancehall banger “Everything Fi Hold Him.” Bardi got a lot of shoutout from her Jamaican fan base for posting the clip and now she is getting some major props from Vanessa Bling herself.

“Cardi B always support my music even before she buss and get big in the music business,” Bling said. “I rate her and love how she’s a true hustler. She’s a real girl and I’m glad for her. I love how she never give up and always kept pushing for greatness.”

Cardi B is currently working on a collaboration with Vanessa Bling’s former mentor Vybz Kartel. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper was in Jamaica last week shooting a new music video with Rvssian and doing some recording for her upcoming album. Do you think Cardi B and Vanessa Bling should work on a collaboration?

Bling has been touring extensively Europe and Africa over the past couple of weeks and so far she said the journey has been great. She posted a pic of herself yesterday in Jerusalem praying. “Today is a happy day for me #Jerusalem this is where my Father was put to rest I only see this place on TV Christmas time. Now am here DEAR LORD I THANK YOU,” she wrote.

Watch Vybz Kartel “Mhm Hm” Video

Vybz Kartel drop three music videos this weekend but perhaps the most anticipated of all of them is “Mhm Hm.”

The single went viral following its released last month and triggered a massive sales boast for oatmeal, peanuts and Suppligen in Jamaica, that’s the power of Vybz Kartel. The cut was directed by Dameon Gayle of Terminal 4 Media. Since round the end of the summer this year, Kartel released more than a dozen new singles, but this is a fan favorite. He also released another video for his single “Don’t Come Back.”

Vybz Kartel received some criticisms over the summer from some dancehall fans for not releasing enough new music. Now that he has responded to fans plea for more new material, they can’t get enough. “Mhm Hm” received close to 3.5 million views on YouTube in the first month of being released, clocking roughly 1 million views per week.

Vybz Kartel Appeal Progressing Very Well Says Attorney

Vybz Kartel appeal case is progressing very well according to one of his attorneys Valerie Neita Robertson.

The trial is set to commence in the Jamaica Appeal Court in February of next year, but there are still some doubts among the dancehall artist’s fans about whether or not he will be vindicated. Currently, there are not a lot of faith in the Jamaican justice system, but Kartel’s attorneys have expressed confidence in winning the case come next year.

“The appeal is progressing pretty well, we have seen some delays, but don’t worry about that, that is on the management and administrative side, but other than that, things are progressing well,” Neita Roberston told Loop. “We have certain things to do within a prescribed time and it will be done.” The veteran lawyer added that the defense team is going into the trial well prepared and will be very detailed in their argument on why he was not given a fair trial.

Vybz Kartel, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones were convicted in 2014 of the murder of their friend Clive “Lizard” Williams. All four men are currently serving life sentences for the gruesome murder where the victim’s body was never found. The murder trial sparked a lot of controversies and most fans of the artists are left with an impression that he was not given a fair trial. There were issues of police intimidating witnesses and tampering with evidence, as well as, a well-publicised issue of one juror attempting to bribe the forewoman to return a not guilty verdict. That juror, Livingston Caine, is currently on trial for corruption and conspiracy and could face up to three years in prison.

If he loses the appeal, Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, will have to serve 35 years before being eligible for parole. He already served six years.

Vybz Kartel – All Aboard [New Music] | Listen

Vybz Kartel debut his new hustle anthem “All Aboard” a catchy single produced by TJ Records.

Earlier this week, the imprisoned dancehall star announced that he will be debuting the new single on Irie FM on Friday and all day yesterday DJ Wayne was spinning the new track. “Am so intriguing get the vision and wake up me do it / Run the boat spring cleaning money move hit season / Honeymoon this even no money marriage a mi dirty habit and me clean,” Kartel deejay.

“All Aboard” is also available for streaming on Apple Music. Sources inside the Gaza told us that Kartel is already prepping to drop more new music come next week. “We have more new music coming its a total dancehall domination this season stay tune,” our source said. We’re also told that the videos for “Mhm Hm” and “Don’t Come Back” will arrive sometime in the next two weeks. Vybz Kartel posted a preview of the two videos on IG yesterday hyping up his fans.

While his songs dominates the airwaves, Vybz Kartel is gearing up for his appeal trial in February of next year. The “Fever” deejay is confident that he will be vindicated of murder when his case is concluded in the appeal court.

Vybz Kartel’s “Mhm Hm” Hit 3 Million Views In Less Than A Month

Vybz Kartel single “Mhm Hm” is the hottest new single in dancehall currently and has already hit three million views in less than a month.

It’s been three weeks since Vybz Kartel drop the infectious new single and already it’s the most popular song in dancehall both in Jamaica and overseas. The track is currently clocking around a million views on YouTube per week and showing no signs of slowing down. Kartel’s team is currently shooting the visuals for the song which will arrive later this month.

“We are shooting that video now so you can expect it late October,” sources told Dancehallhiphop.com. “The video will be fun just like the single is fun and catchy. Right now ‘Mhm Hm’ is the most requested song in parties and on radios. You can say that this will be the biggest dancehall song of the year. No other have a song that gain so much traction so fast this year.”

Aidonia fans might not agree with that assessment since his single “Yeah Yeah” is also a monster hit this year and gain a lot of traction in dancehall very fast.

Listen Masicka New Hit Song “Energy”

Masicka is getting his “Energy” up before the new year because he is planning to conquer dancehall in 2018.

The Genahsyde deejay teams with J1 Production for his latest dancehall banger “Energy.” “Spliff a light the energy right / Gal a whine so the energy bright / Money nuff so the energy right / And we no new to this, we do it every night / Guns deh ya so the energy right,” Masicka deejay.

Masicka has been having a phenomenal year with a number of hit records this year. He also scored one of dancehall’s biggest single this year “InfraRed” a collaboration with Vybz Kartel. He also got some attention for a few diss records aimed at Aidonia, but that beef never materialized because the 4thGenna deejay decided not to engaged Masicka.

Listen to the new single “Energy” below.

NotNice Speaks On Killing Of Vybz Kartel Protege

NotNice is speaking out on the killing of Vybz Kartel‘s protege Gaza Maxwell.

The former Gazanation deejay was stabbed to death last month at a studio in Springfield, St Thomas. Police officers are actively investigating the murder but have not yet made an arrest. Producer NotNice says Maxwell’s death is a big blow for him because he was someone he worked with closely in the past. “Me stress out because is somebody me used to work closely with from Gaza days, so fi hear this, and the way him dead, it messed up,” the beat maker said. “Gaza Maxwell didn’t deserve to die that way. He was a good youth.”

NotNice says that it was Vybz Kartel who lead him to work with Gaza Maxwell and the last song that they did together was “Miss You” which is a rest in piece song featured on the Eternal Riddim. After Kartel disbanded Portmore Empire in 2012, Gaza Maxwell then moved to St. Thomas to further pursue his music. “Mi nuh voice ‘fool fool’ artiste, and Kartel nah go recruit ‘fool fool’ artiste, either. And a really Kartel did bring him come as a part of the Empire,” NotNice added. “Kartel say him (Maxwell) did remind him a the Festival man, Eric Donaldson, and a so comes me get fi voice him.”

Vybz Kartel learned about Gaza Maxwell’s murder while in the hospital last month. Sources say the dancehall star is hurt by the news.

Alkaline Vs Vybz Kartel: Who Is The Real “1 Don” ?

Alkaline and Vybz Kartel are the two top rivals in dancehall currently and lately they are both fighting over the “1 Don” moniker.

Over the past few years, Alkaline has called himself other monikers like Young Lawd and Torch, while Vybz Kartel called himself The Teacher and Worl’Boss. Now both deejays are referring to themselves as the 1 Don of dancehall. The term one done means that you are the top artist in the genre currently and fans of both sides will say that their artist is the leading act.

Vybz Kartel released a new single “Don’t Come Back” last week where he deejays about being the only one done in dancehall. “One don one don that’s me / Kartel, Worl’ Boss or Teach / Run street whether black or bleach / Or if me say be my first G / Me stop tell girls ’bout faithful / ‘Cause they will do what they want / But since we broke up, I’m so strong,” Kartel deejay. The last two lines are believed to be a shot at his baby mama.

Alkaline then posted a photo of himself in the studio on Instagram over the weekend which he captioned “1 Don.”

Since the start of the year, both Alkaline and Vybz Kartel have released diss tracks against each other but not on the level of the Gully/Gaza feud of the mid-2000s. Kartel’s camp has also been very vocal about Alkaline imitating some of the deejay’s style and using shock-value to gain more notoriety like skin bleaching, controversial lyrics, and the infamous eyeball tattoo which turns out to be fake.

Since breaking onto the scene in 2013, Alkaline has made a name for himself in dancehall with a vast catalog of hit songs. Although his musical catalog is nowhere near as large of Vybz Kartel’s, Alkaline name often arrives in conversation with other top dancehall acts like Vybz Kartel, Mavado, and Popcaan.

Watch Vybz Kartel In Prison In Busta Rhymes & Tory Lanez “Girlfriend” video

Busta Rhymes drop the video for his Vybz Kartel and Tory Lanez-assisted single “Girlfriend.”

This is perhaps the first time that Vybz Kartel is making a live appearance in a music video since his arrest in 2011. The world has been waiting for this moment and it’s finally here thanks to Busta Rhymes. The video features cameos from a bunch of local Jamaican dancehall celebrities like Beenie Man, Foota Hype, Junior Reid, Spice, and Bounty Killer.

The cut was directed by Benny Boom and Busta Rhymes and starts out with Beenie Man picking up the hip-hop legend at the airport with his fleet of luxury vehicles. Busta then link up with his crew on a yacht and hit the Jamaican waters. The rapper then link up with some dancehall godfathers before visiting Vybz Kartel at the maximum security Tower Street Prison, aka GP. The cut features the incarcerated dancehall star behind bars while delivering a killer verse. Everyone is wondering how Busta Rhymes manage to get that cut, still a mystery, but this is Jamaica.

Busta then left from the prison and link up Foota Hype party in Kingston with Tory Lanez and the rest of the dancehall crew, including Spice, Bounty Killer, Ninja Man, and Junior Reid. The single “Girlfriend” was released over the summer on Conglomerate Entertainment and Epic Records labels.

Was Vybz Kartel Poisoned In Prison? Illness More Serious Than Reported

Vybz Kartel kidney infection is much more serious that we previously reported and some people in his circle are saying that he might have been poisoned in prison.

The “Fever” deejay has been hospitalized for a week now with a severe case of kidney infection. Sources close to the deejay’s family told DancehallHipHop that doctors have been running numerous tests on him to get to the bottom of his sickness. “They are still running tests on him, they did blood test and a number of other tests, so we are now waiting to hear the results,” sources said.

“He is complaining about feeling a lot of pain, but he is getting pain killers,” sources added. We’re told that his family particularly his wife and kids are very worried about his health because this is the first time that he has ever been this sick. “Everyone is worried because it seems like his condition is much worst than what they are telling, it’s like the doctors are hiding something from us,” our source said. “Kartel never had a kidney problem before so right now we are even wondering if someone poisoned him because they attempted to do it before.”

In 2015, prison authorities foiled a murder plot against Vybz Kartel when an inmate smuggled knives and a poisonous substance inside a section of the prison. Two bottles of an unknown poisonous substance were allegedly smuggled in by an ancillary worker inside the prison. Kartel is only a few months away from his appeal trial and his attorneys have expressed confidence in getting him released when that trial concludes. There are chatters that someone does not want the artist to be free and are actively trying to do something nefarious.

Vybz Kartel & Lorde Featured On New Major Lazer Track [Listen]

Dancehall star Vybz Kartel and pop singer Lorde is featured on a new single from Major Lazer.

The new Major Lazer track was previewed on Lazer Sound radio show on Apple Music’s Beats 1 this week and you can tell that it will be another dancehall banger. You can hear Lorde’s distinct vocals over a retro dancehall beat. She sampled Jamaican legend Yellowman’s 1984 classic “Nobody Move, Nobody Get Hurt.” Vybz Kartel’s vocals wasn’t in the preview, but you can see his name listed which means he will be on the full version of the single.

Kartel and Major Lazer are longtime collaborators and have in the past worked on some big hits. There was once a time on Twitter when Lorde told Diplo on Twitter that his penis was tiny, but it seems the two have put those differences aside and are now making music together. I guess we can all celebrate that moment when they make peace because now we have a potential banger from the two, and with Vybz Kartel in the mix, this will be epic.

Diplo firmed announced the single from all the way back in March of this year when he said that it’s coming but he just doesn’t know when. “I don’t know when it’s coming out, it’s pretty dope,” he said.

Vybz Kartel Remains Hospitalized For Severe Kidney Infection

Vybz Kartel remains in the hospital while getting treatment for a severe kidney infection.

Authorities are not allowing any visitors at the moment and he is heavily guarded in a secure section of the University Hospital of the West Indies. Sources told us that his common-law wife Tanesha “Shorty” Johnson and his attorney Tom Tavares-Finson are in contact with prison officials and are getting regular updates on his condition. We’re told that he is currently in stable condition.

Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, was rushed to the hospital early Monday morning after complaining of severe pain in his side. Medical staff at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Center have been treating him since last week Wednesday but when his condition didn’t improve they took him to UWI hospital. Sources inside the Gazanation told us that everyone in his circle is very concerned about his health and overall treatment at the GP prison.

Kartel is serving a life sentence for a murder conviction and has been behind for since 2011. He is currently awaiting his highly anticipated new trial in the Court of Appeal in Jamaica. The trial kicks off in February 2018. The dancehall star and his fans are hoping that he will be freed when the case concludes.

Vybz Kartel Hospitalized For Mysterious Illness

Vybz Kartel was rushed to a hospital early this morning for a mysterious illness.

Prison officials have not released a statement on the artist’s condition, but sources confirmed with Dancehallhiphop.com that he was escorted by a heavily armed police detail to the KPH in Kingston after he started complaining that he wasn’t feeling well. Some sources are saying that he is getting treatment for a possible kidney infection and maybe suffering from dehydration. We’re told that has been getting treatment by medical staffs inside the prison but when his condition did not improve, he was taken to the hospital.

Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, is serving a life sentence at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Center, also known as GP. This is the second hospitalization for him since June 2013 when he was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital after complaining of severe chest pain. Some Gazanation fans on social media are now wondering if the “Fever” deejay’s health has been declining as a result of his incarceration.

“Jamaican prisons are the worst so this is not surprising, he is just going to be there wasting away if they don’t release him,” one fan wrote. Vybz Kartel lawyers are currently preparing for his appeal trial set for February 2018. His lead attorney, Tom Tavares-Finson, says the defense is confident that the murder conviction will be overturned by the Appeal Court judges.

Vybz Kartel and three of his cronies including his Gaza protege, Shawn Storm, were convicted of murder in 2014 for the gruesome killing of their former friend Clive “Lizard” Williams, whose body was never found. The prosecution presented video and audio evidence which they say linked the four men to the murder, but the defense argued that cops doctored evidence against the dancehall artists and intimidate witnesses. Kartel has maintained his innocence saying, he has nothing to do with the murder.

Alkaline Tops Vybz Kartel On YouTube

Alkaline stays ahead of Vybz Kartel on YouTube with his Vevo channel reaching a milestone 500,000 subscribers.

The two rival deejays fans have been battling each other on the airwaves and on social media over which one of them is currently the leading act in dancehall. In comparison Kartel currently has 364,000 subscribers on his Vevo channel. Sean Paul is currently the leading dancehall artists on YouTube with 700,000+ subscribers. Shaggy has just over 500,000 fans and Spice has slightly more than Vybz Kartel coming in at 384,000. Those round out the top five.

Vendetta and Gazanation fans are the rival factions in this bunch and will surely reference this piece of news during their heated debate on which artist is currently leading. So far it seems like Alkaline is winning on YouTube, but who is winning on the airwaves? This month alone, Vybz Kartel released six new singles, as well as a new music video and so far all of them, are hit-worthy.

In February this year, Vybz Kartel bagged five Youth View Awards while Alkaline walked away with three prompting some Vendetta fans to call out the YVA on social media. Gaza fans were happy with the results at that time and labeled Alkaline fans as sore losers.

Vybz Kartel Dropping Two New Songs This Week One Is A Alkaline Diss

Vybz Kartel already released five new singles since the start of September and this week we will be getting two additional new tracks including a potential Alkaline diss.

The incarcerated deejay has been quiet throughout the summer while his mega-hit “Fever” continues to make waves in the mainstream market. Clearly, he has been recording new material and was perhaps waiting for all the noise during the summer to die down before dropping some new music. Kartel is known for releasing a flood of music on the airwaves so while his new releases have slowed down, it doesn’t mean that he isn’t still recording, sources inside the Gaza told us.

“We dropping two new songs this week just and we just getting started,” sources told DHH. “One of the songs will for sure stir up some controversy but the fans always look deep into what Worl’Boss is saying in his songs that just how it always is from day one.” During the summer, some Gazanation fans started begging Vybz Kartel to release new music following a brief period of dormancy. Clearly, the Gaza boss has been listening to his fans.

Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, and his three co-convicts, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Andre St John, and Kahira Jones, are currently awaiting their appeal trial set for February 18, 2018. His attorney, Tom Tavares-Finason has already submitted his skeletal argument to the Appeal Court judges.

NotNice Talks Vybz Kartel, Popcaan and New Alkaline Diss Track

NotNice has a lot to say about Vybz Kartel and Popcaan, as well as, his new artists recording a new Alkaline diss track.

NotNice was close friends with Vybz Kartel at one point but since their fallout in 2011, the two have not spoken to each other. The producer even said in an interview in 2014 that he will never forgive Kartel for sending his goons to take away his engineering equipment from his home studio. Speaking with Anthony Miller of ER, NotNice briefly spoke about his life after the Worl’Boss.

“It’s not like it didn’t work out with Kartel, you know Kartel have him ways and it just happened and then him end up where him ended up (prison),” NotNice said. When asked about the seized equipment he said he has more now. NotNice later produced hit songs for Alkaline before aligning himself with Popcaan whom he produced a number of hits for in recent years. According to the producer, Alkaline was the one who diss Popcaan but the Unruly boss chose to not respond. Now NotNice has a new artist, JaFrass, who is voicing an Alkaline diss record.

“JaFrass just decide that he is going to defend it,” the producer said. NotNice also spoke about critics saying that he has lost his touch.

Vybz Kartel Hit “Fever” Climbs To No. 1 On iTunes

Vybz Kartel continues to grip mainstream airwaves with “Fever” which reached number one on iTunes reggae chart.

“Fever” is one of the biggest dancehall singles this year and it has already made an impact on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart. The song peaked at No. 36 on the chart making it Kartel’s second single to make an entry onto Billboard over his career. Perhaps his biggest achievement in recent years was when the song took the number one spot on iTunes reggae chart last week. The song has slipped to 13th place on the chart this week but it just shows the share growth over the past few months.

Since being added to major radio stations in the U.S. earlier this year, “Fever” has grown substantially while amassing over 50 million combined views on YouTube and over 10 million streams on Apple Music. What’s even more interesting is that Vybz Kartel did it all while he has been behind bars for over six years. Vybz Kartel is already searching for his next big hit by releasing four new singles since the start of this month. Some dancehall artists are wondering how did he manage to stay so relevant half a decade after his incarceration.

Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, scored his first Billboard hit with his 2009 single “Romping Shop” featuring Spice. Between 2009 and 2011, the dancehall star scored a number of hits and sparked some controversy including skin bleaching and beating up members of his Portmore Empire crew like NotNice, Black Ryno, and Gaza Kim. He even had a bitter fallout with former Vybz Rum business partner Corey Todd and even threatened him. His downfall wouldn’t come until September 2011 when he and several of his cronies were arrested in a massive police operation in Kingston. He was slapped with two murder charges a short time after and although he was exonerated of one of those charges, he was convicted of the second murder charge during a lengthy trial in 2014 along with three others including his protege Shawn Storm.

Kartel and his co-convicts have appealed the murder conviction and are now awaiting their appeal case set for February next year.

Gaza Kim Talks Being Beaten By Vybz Kartel Cronies, Rape & Depression

Kym Hamilton, formerly known as Gaza Kim, has opened up about being beaten by Vybz Kartel cronies and going into a state of depression since then.

Gaza Kim was once one of the fastest rising dancehall artist inside Vybz Kartel’s now disbanded Portmore Empire, but her fast rise came to an end in 2010 when she was beaten by cronies of her mentor Vybz Kartel. In a powerful new single “God Plan,” the female dancehall deejay opened up about the assault, her depression and even having a miscarriage.

“Them tell a bag a lie pon me fi mek mi get beaten / The bugga them want to see me weaken / But mi never weak at all only mi bladder get weaken / Maybe because it was on a weekend / Friday, January 22nd, 2010 was when mi life change,” she sings. January, 22, 2010 was the date the beaten took place and the deejay left the Gaza a short time later. During an interview on NightlyFix, she opened up about her life following that incident and how it sent her into a state of depression and weight gain.

She also spoke about being raped at age 17 by a man older than her and is only recently opening up about it to her mother. Kym says that after leaving the Gaza she thought that everyone hated her, but that wasn’t the case and she recently took a photo with Jah Vinci at UIM Records studio.

With all these music videos being released, Gazanation fans are only growing more hungry for the deejay’s release from prison. “Mi love it when yo whine yo waist so / Mi love it when yo move yo hips so / Whine like a calypso, yo whine like the gal them from Puerto Rico / Mi love it when yo jiggle in it so / Mi love it when yo move yo hips so,” Vybz Kartel deejay over an infectious dancehall beat.

The cut was directed by Niculai Constantinescu and features Don Andre spitting rhymes while some banging females show off their moves around him. The video features some old clips from Vybz Kartel music video “Go Go Wine.”
