Travis Scott Disappointed About Grammy Snubbing “Birds In The Trap”

Travis Scott says he feels some type of way about the Grammy snubbing his album Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight.

The album was released in September of 2016 and debut at number one on the Billboard chart after selling 88,000 equivalent album units in the first week of release. In an interview with Billboard, Travis Scott spoke about the project not getting its due respect from the industry despite his rise in the business over the last few years.

“I worked so hard on Rodeo and Birds,” he said. “It might not have been recognized by the masses, but my fans always went hard. This year I’m on a mission to be heard.” Despite both albums selling well in the digital space, Travis Scott says he has failed to receive critical acclaim by not even getting a Grammy nomination for his work. Other artists have echoed similar sentiments about being snubbed by the Grammy’s while some of his other peers are getting the Grammy red carpet rolled out for them like JAY-Z and Kendrick Lamar who both lead the list of nominees this year.

As for why he didn’t get a Grammy nod, Travis Scott says he has no idea but hopes that one day he will get the respect that he thinks that he deserves. “Maybe nobody played them the album, I don’t know,” the G.O.O.D. Music rapper added.

Travis Scott has a new collaborative album out with Quavo, Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart and No. 1 on the Hip-Hop/R&B chart. He is currently working on his new album AstroWorld which is due in the spring of this year. His collaborator Quavo is currently getting ready to drop his new Migos album Culture 2, due this month. Perhaps AstroWorld will earn him his first Grammy nomination, keep your head up Travis.

Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole Gets Feature On Jeezy’s ‘Pessure’ Album

Jeezy reveals the tracklist for his new album Pressure and some big names can be found on it.

The album is set for a December 15th release date, the same day that Eminem is dropping Revival. Among the tracklist on Jeezy’s new 13-track LP are Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Trey Songz, WizKid, Kodak Black, Puff Daddy, 2 Chainz, Tee Grizzley, Rick Ross, Tory Lanez, Payroll Giovanni, and YG. The project is packed with an all-star cast with Jeezy going solo on only four singles.

Interestingly, Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole are featured on the same track with Jeezy, “American Dream.” The upcoming single got tongues waging given that these two young rappers are often mentioned in the top five rappers alive debate. This marks the first time that Cole and K-Dot are working together on the same single. How did Jeezy make that happen? Well, he must have pulled some serious strings.

The closest that they ever came to working together was on Black Friday of 2015 when they both remixed each other songs. J. Cole rapped over Kendrick’s smash hit single “Alright” and the Compton rapper rapped over his counterparts single “A Tale of 2 Citiez.” That moved stirred up rumors that they are planning to drop a joint project but that never happen, but a collaborative single is good enough for now.

Pressure is the follow-up to Jeezy’s 2016 mixtape Trap or Die 3 which was released in November last year.

Pressure Tracklist:

1. “Spyder”
2. “Cold Summer” Feat. Tee Grizzley
3. “In a Major Way” Feat. Payroll Giovanni
4. “Floor Seats” Feat. 2 Chainz
5. “This is It”
6. “Bottles Up” Feat. Puff Daddy
7. “Valet (Interlude)”

Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Damn.’ Tops Rolling Stone Best Albums Of 2017

Kendrick Lamar is soaring high on Rolling Stone list of 50 Best Albums of 2017.

There are very little folks who would disagree that Kendrick Lamar drops one of the best, if not the best, albums this year, DAMN. So it should come as no surprise that Rolling Stone named the project the best album of the year. The LP sold 603,000 album-equivalent units in its first week to open at the top of the Billboard 200 chart in April of this year. It went on to top the chart for four non-consecutive weeks and has since sold over 800,000 traditional album units and over 2 million album-equivalent units.

The album DAMN. has already picked up an American Music Award for Favorite Album Rap/Hip-Hop Album and a BET Hip Hop Award for Album of the Year. The project is also one to watch for the upcoming Grammy Awards. With the release of DAMN, Kendrick Lamar cemented his place as one of the top five rappers of this generation, a topic that is a constant debate in hip hop culture.

Further down on Rolling Stone’s list of 50 Best Albums of 2017, Migos album Culture ranked number nine following an impressive run this year as trap music begins to gain more traction in the mainstream. JAY-Z’s critically acclaimed new album 4:44 ranked number twelve and some of the rap legend’s fans are not too happy about that and think the project should at least be top five this year. “Hov’s 4:44 is easily top five albums this year, no way some of these pop artists drop a better project that Hov please revise this list,” one fan wrote.

SZA’s Ctrl came in at number twenty, while Drake’s More Life came in at number 27 just one place higher than Vince Staples’ Big Fish Theory. Chronixx is the only reggae artist to make the list with his Chronology album ranking 48.

Lyrics Rich the Kid – New freezer

Ayyy, new freezer
You know what it was when you synced up, ayy
Dat way, yuh, yuh, yeah dat way.

My b*tch too foreign, need a visa
I don’t need her
Pull up drop top with a eater
Two seater
New b*tch wanna f*ck to my AP
New freezer
I woke up thinkin’ ’bout bands
Hop off a jet to a check when I land
My b*tch too foreign, need a visa
I don’t need her
Pull up drop top with a eater
Two seater
New b*tch wanna f*ck to my AP
New freezer
I woke up thinkin’ ’bout bands
Hop off a jet to a check when I land.

L2B – Home lyrics

[Hook]
I’m prolly faded when I hit the scene,
Please don’t disturb me while I’m in my zone.
I’m tryna pull up in something you aint never seen,
While riding through my city feeling right at home,
I let ’em know, I hold it down,
Hold it down, hold it down, down, down,
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down,
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down.

[Verse 1]
I’m from New Haven City, I don’t have another home,
I be chillin’ right by Yale, next to Skull and Bones.
Come along with me to see a real artist in his zone,
Alone, in his own mind, trying to write another song,
Hypnotized by the music whenever it comes on,
Hardworking and talented, I kill two birds with one stone,
Making sure my story will never go untold,
Let the drama unfold ’cause my heart has gone cold,
First place reservation, got that spot on hold,
If she can hold a conversation and she’s hot, I’m sold.
Something like Midas, everything I touch turns gold,
I don’t slow down, keep it moving like I’m on the run though.
Got used to ballin’ out, like Rajon Rondo,
Me and the team going all out, tell me where’d the time go?
It aint nothing, got a problem, have it handled pronto,
End your career with one song, you’ll be another John Doe.

[Hook]
I’m prolly faded when I hit the scene,
Please don’t disturb me while I’m in my zone.
I’m tryna pull up in something you aint never seen,
While riding through my city feeling right at home,
I let ’em know, I hold it down,
Hold it down, hold it down, down, down,
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down,
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down.

[Verse 2]
Man, the rap game lacks originality these days,
All these songs sound the same, talking about
Stealing your chick, and being rich,
It’s as if they got nothing else to say,
It’s hard to differentiate these dudes when
They’re all doing their best impression of Drake.
The styles repetitive, I mean how much can we take?
Most of you rappers sound dumb,
There’s not much more I can say.
I’m such a perfectionist with this, I can’t afford a mistake,
So I’m here to inform you that I’m more than a basic artist,
I’m already great.
I’m sick of corny rappers acting like you’re leading the way.
Ya’ll aint leading shit,
Lead the way in the kitchen and make me a PB & J.
They say Kendrick Lamar set the bar for being lyrical huh?
When really he stands out ’cause every other rapper you hear sucks.
Lyrics, I don’t hear much. Talent, I don’t hear enough,
Your music only sounds bearable while I’m wearing ear plugs.
It’s hysterical, my style is incomparable, plus,
I just care way too much to let all you wack rappers “Turn up!”

[Hook]
I’m prolly faded when I hit the scene,
Please don’t disturb me while I’m in my zone.
I’m tryna pull up in something you aint never seen,
While riding through my city feeling right at home,
I let ’em know, I hold it down,
Hold it down, hold it down, down, down,
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down,
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down
I hold it down, hold it down,
Hold it down, down, down.
