Post Malone “Don’t Call Me A Rapper But Still Listen To My Raps”

Post Malone don’t want to be called a rapper anymore but he still wants you to listen to his raps.

The “Rockstar” rapper got some heat on Twitter this week after making the statement during an interview with GQ. Post Malone spoke about his struggles being a white rapper in the music industry, which might have influenced him to making the statement on not wanting to be labeled a rapper anymore. Nevertheless, he currently has the No. 3 song on Billboard Hot 100.

“I definitely feel like there’s a struggle being a white rapper,” Post Malone said. “But I don’t want to be a rapper. I just want to be a person that makes music. I make music that I like and I think that kicks ass, that I think the people who f**k with me as a person and as an artist will like.”

That statement triggered a backlash on Twitter and some fans told him directly to just quit hip hop all entirely and make another genre of music. Some folks sees it as a double standard where he wants to not be labeled as a rapper but at the same time he puts out a tone of new music that’s hardcore rap. So the main takaway here is that he can’t have it both ways, although some fans can be a bit too critical of artists on social media.

post malone – doesn’t wanna be called a rapper

post malone – raps, raps over typically rap beats, features rappers, uses slang and accents popular in rap music

“guys it’s been so hard for me don’t box me in”

He could’ve done alternative rock, tanked, & realized he was wack. Instead, he chose rap since white, hip hop audiences have a penchant for going crazy over mediocre, European-American rappers.

A queer Black woman innovated rock n roll in the 1940’s

A Black woman was behind the sugar hill gang who put hip hop on the map in 1979

The Post Malone article doesn’t surprise me. It’s the same erasure of culture that’s been happening since the dawn of modern music. ?????

Cardi B Has Three Songs On Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 Creates History Again

Cardi B is dominating Billboard Hot 100 to kick off her New Year.

The “Bodak Yellow” rapper became only the third artist in history and the first rapper to have their first three Billboard Hot 100 songs to chart in the top ten simultaneously. The only other two artists to achieve this are Ashanti and The Beatles, according to Billboard. Cardi B joined the elites among artists last year when her debut single “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” topped the chart making her the first female rapper since Lauryn Hill in the late 1990s to top the chart with a solo record.

Now Cardi B is making more history for herself once again on the most recognized music chart on the planet, the Billboard Hot 100. Her song with G-Eazy and ASAP Rocky, “No Limit” jumps one place this week to No. 4, while Migos’ “MotorSport” with Cardi B and Nicki Minaj holds firm at No. 7 on the chart this week. That’s two singles in the top ten where she is a guest artist on, but her debut single “Bodak Yellow” saw some resurgence over the holidays and jumped two places from No. 12 to 10 on the chart.

“What a great way to start my Year.Thank you Lord,” Cardi B wrote on Instagram. “Only you and i know how much i pray to you. These last few weeks been too much for me but my Lord always find a way to uplift me .Thank you to my fans ,DJS ,Team for the support .Thanks to all the artist who featured me In these songs and thanks guys for showing my second single BARTIER CARDI some love I love you.”

It’s very much possible that she can achieve four songs simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100 if her new single “Bartier Cardi” continues to gain momentum. The song made its debut on the chart at No. 14 and over the holidays it was a top trending song on some major streaming platforms. Further down on the chart, Cardi B can be found on another song “La Modelo” with latin singer Ozuna which entered the chart at No. 52. “LA MODELO HAS ALSO ENTER THE HOT 100 at number 52 .Thank you guys for the support this honestly one of my favorite songs .Thank you @ozunapr por darme la oportunidad,” Bardi wrote on Instagram.

Cardi B Performs “Bodak Yellow” At MOBO Awards [Watch]

Cardi B light up the stage at Wednesday Night’s MOBO Awards in the UK with a sizzling performance of her breakout hit “Bodak Yellow.”

The song gave Cardi B a mega year in hip hop giving her a taste of mainstream success after dropping a few mixtapes. This summer she became the first female rapper to have a number one song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart as a solo artist since Lauryn Hill did it in the 90s.

Last night she took the stage at the First Direct Arena in Leeds, England to perform her chart topping single “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)” and through her performance she had the crowd on its feet. Cardi B picked up two Grammy nominations after the single received nods for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.

Nicki Minaj Shoots Video With Lil Uzi Vert Compares Him To Lil Wayne

Nicki Minaj shoots a new video with Lil Uzi Vert but it’s her statement about Lil Wayne that grabs headlines.

The Young Money femcee drops a video clip on Instagram last night of herself and Lil Uzi Vert hanging out on set. Earlier this month, the pair drop the remix for “The Way Life Goes” and that track has since become Nicki’s 82nd Billboard Hot 100 entries. “This dat Nicki. This dat UZI. Who’s ready for the video?” she wrote. “This just became my 82nd Billboard Hot 100 Entry. Thank you guys so much. #TheWayLifeGoesREMIX #Motorsport was my 81st. Barbie working but u ain’t seen nuffin yet!”

Nicki Minaj was also high as sh** and she made sure that she pointed that out before anyone started judging her. “Congratulations, we high as sh*t,” she said. “We feelin’ really good right now. We on the set of the video. It’s just a pleasure to work with him.” Nicki added that Lil Uzi Vert reminds him of his label boss, the man who gave her her first big record deal, Lil Wayne. “He just reminds me so much of Tunechi (Lil Wayne) so everytime I see him, I’m always like, ‘aww, my little baby,’ because he just gives me the Lil Tunechi vibe. And so because of that, I love him. And I love this f***in’ song. Shout out to our fans and all of that. We’re about to give you a killer video.”

Some fans are already questioning Nicki Minaj’s sanity for comparing a young and new artist like Lil Uzi Vert to one of our generation’s most influential rappers and arguably one of the greatest rappers of all time, Lil Wayne. They do share some similarities in that Weezy often refers to himself as a rockstar and Uzi also sees himself in that light.

This dat Nicki.?This dat UZI. ??Who’s ready for the video? – This just became my 82nd Billboard Hot 100 Entry. Thank you guys so much. #TheWayLifeGoesREMIX #Motorsport was my 81st. Barbie working but u ain’t seen nuffin yet! ??

Twitter Reacts To Offset and Cardi B Engagement

Twitter is giving some mixed reaction to Offset and Cardi B engagement.

The Migos rapper popped the question to his girlfriend while performing at Power 99’s Powerhouse concert in Philadelphia last night. The Atlanta rapper went down on his knees and gave her a giant diamond ring and she ecstatically said yes. Already, Cardi Bo and Offset are getting a lot of hate on Twitter but thankfully there are some fans who fully support the rappers and are rooting for them.

What a year Cardi B has been having. She kicked off 2018 with her mixtape “Gangsta B*tch Music Vol. 2” released in January and midway throughout the year, in June she released “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves).” Little did she know that single would completely transformed her life as it moved to the number one spot on Billboard Hot 100 during the summer making Cardi B the first female rapper since Lauryn Hill in 1998 to score a solo No. 1 record on Billboard.

As if all that success wasn’t enough, she is now planning her wedding to marry the man of her dreams. “Jesus Christ I’m so emotional, [Ofset] I loveee you so much,” she said on Instagram. “Thank you for seeing the potential in me since you met me .For giving me advice molding me and loving me .Your such a amazing man to me your family ,friends ,kids and you are extremely talented.I can’t wait to spend FOREVAAAA with you .Lets make a lot shmoney and love together.”
